As a Sales Specialist, youll spend most of your time communicating with customers – discussing project needs, answering questions, and helping them accomplish their home improvement goals.<br /><br />You will become the product expert, informing customers of specifications, features, promotions, and financing options to close a sale. Your exceptional consulting services help ensure that customer needs are met before leaving the store.<br /><br />You will be working in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls.<br /><br /><b>Key Responsibilities</b><br /><ul><li>Provide SMART customer service by seeking out customers to understand their needs, answer questions, and communicate the advantages of Lowes products and services</li><li>Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors within your department, providing project estimates, scheduling installer visits, processing and tracking customer orders/installations, and following up to ensure project completion.</li><li>If in the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services</li><li>Monitor inventory levels to support sales, working with vendors and other stores to find merchandise and order replacement stock</li><li>Perform price reviews by pricing policies and ensure maintenance of pricing and documentation</li><li>Support all checkout functions, call buttons, departmental pages, or requests for assistance</li><li>Train associates in the department by conducting on-the-job training on the Sales floor and coaching around development needs</li><li>Complete other duties as assigned</li></ul><br /><b>Minimum Qualifications</b><br /><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED</li><li>1 year experience in customer-facing sales or 6 months of Lowe’s retail experience (Or 3 years of external experience in customer-facing sales or 18 months of Lowe’s retail experience if education requirement is not met)</li><li>1 year of experience in sales or customer service in a sales environment with required sales goals or metrics</li><li>Able to Read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)</li><li>Able to stand and sit for prolonged periods</li><li>Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation</li><li>Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law in your state (Lowes will support and fund this requirement)</li></ul><br /><b>Preferred Qualifications</b><br /><ul><li>1 year of experience in completing customer sales orders</li><li>1 Year Experience promoting product related services and plans such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plan</li><li>2 years of experience designing customized products for customers using 20/20 or Computer-Aided Design System</li><li>Professional certification related to the department being considered</li><li>Bi-lingual skills</li></ul><br />Lowes commitment to growth and teamwork extends to the community as well. <b>To better equip our stores and serve our communities, we strongly encourage bilingual, military, and veteran talent to apply and join our team.</b><br /><br /><b>Travel Requirements</b><br /><br />This role does not require regular travel; however, this role may need to travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.<br /><br /><b>Working Conditions</b><br /><br />Environmental factors vary by location. You may be working in both inside and outside weather conditions. Exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions, is possible. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises in addition to moving or shaking objects and equipment.<br /><br />Lifting methods vary based on role, weight, and volume. Associates must follow guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
