Gwent Archives has received a grant to support the preservation of the Ebbw Vale Steelworks collection. We are looking for an organised, dextrous, enthusiastic and motivated person to undertake the programme of preventive conservation based at Gwent Archives, Ebbw Vale.

After training in document handling and damage awareness, you will assist the Conservator in conservation treatments, undertake cleaning, making of enclosures and repacking the collection documents.

As the successful candidate you will have a basic level of literacy and good concentration levels particularly when carrying out repetitive tasks. You will be expected to stand/sit for extended periods of time, lift moderately heavy objects and handle tools/equipment necessary for the role.
