The USVI ODR, a division of the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority, has entrusted us with the critical task of managing and supporting federally funded recovery projects across the U.S. Virgin Islands. Our work will involve overseeing the reconstruction of key educational institutions, all of which were severely impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. We're looking for an experienced and collaborative Project Manager to relocate to either St. Thomas or St. Croix to support the delivery of a multi-billion dollar disaster recovery program. Based at the client site in the US Virgin Islands, you'll be responsible for managing the project team and the overall project delivery, but also for the management of the project development from conception through completion in accordance with program objectives. You will manage and provide oversight and facilitate resolution to complex project related challenges. As a member of our team, you'll lead building and infrastructure projects consisting of multi-discipline teams of employees in design, including Architectural, MEP, Structural, and Civil. As the Project Manager, you'll play an integral role in mentoring staff, forming long-term relationships with clients, and pursuing new work, including strategy development, positioning, proposing, and negotiating contracts. You'll provide effective, skilled project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques. Responsibilities

  • Manage the project team and overall project delivery.
  • Oversee the management of project development from conception through completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in construction and at least 2 years as a project manager.
  • Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, contract management, project delivery methods, building systems/components and technology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, initiator; demonstrated through professional society involvements or related activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with clients and to win work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
