This is a remote position.

Our client is looking for a dedicated Psychiatric Medical Assistant to join their dynamic team remotely. They are an innovative leader in the mental health technology sector, recognized for their significant growth and commitment to expanding access to compassionate, evidence-based care in recent years.


Responsibilities

  • Manage patient form intake and organization using a specialized form management platform, adhering to established admissions protocols.

  • Oversee the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, including creating and updating patient charts and documenting visit notes, verifications, and authorizations.

  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments across multiple platforms, ensuring consistency and resolving any scheduling conflicts.

  • Conduct insurance verifications (VOB) for patients and handle the submission and follow-up for prior authorizations and attestations.

  • Process co-payments and collaborate with the billing department to identify and resolve discrepancies.

  • Proactively communicate with patients via phone, email, or text to confirm appointments and manage cancellations or no-shows.

  • Process and track prescription refill requests for timely provider review.

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to providers, including schedule management and accurate charting.

  • Maintain professional and supportive communication with patients, their families, and partner organizations.



Requirements

  • Prior experience in a psychiatric, behavioral health, or general medical office setting.

  • Proven knowledge of EMR systems, scheduling tools, and document management platforms.

  • Familiarity with insurance procedures, including verification of benefits (VOB), authorizations, and processing co-pays.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.

  • A professional communication style suited for interacting with patients, providers, and external partners.

  • An unwavering commitment to patient-centered care and strict HIPAA compliance.


Qualifications

  • A Medical Assistant certification is plus.

  • Experience with specific platforms like DrChrono, ZocDoc, or Lobbie is a significant advantage.
