Job Description:

  • Develop and execute public relations program and strategies including media relations, crisis communications/issues management, stakeholder relations, and community relations, that strengthen Myriad’s reputation and visibility.
  • Drive strong two-way communications with external audiences, print, broadcast, trade, and media.
  • Develop and convey compelling messages and position newsworthy development that differentiate Myriad.
  • Create, revise, and implement communications material that delivers key messages to target audiences that are consistent with branding, messaging, and digital strategies.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate proactive public relations campaigns, event marketing, and related initiatives leveraging industry best practices.
  • Collaborate across Marketing and Corporate Communications to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key media and industry outlets; manage inquiries and coverage opportunities.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media statements, bylines, blog content, and executive communications.
  • Oversee PR agencies and external partners to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Support executives with media preparation, thought leadership, and speaking opportunities.
  • Track and report media coverage, sentiment, and impact.
  • Support crisis communications and rapid response as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field. Agency, in-house, and global experience preferred.
  • 4 -6+ years of public relations, communications and/or media experience. Biotech and/or Healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills and experience with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling messages.
  • Experience managing PR agencies, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Proven success in working cooperatively and strategically in a team-oriented matrixed environment with the ability to influence and interact with all levels of leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadline-driven projects simultaneously, aligning enterprise and business communications strategies.
  • Strong work ethic and the desire to make an impact.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed organization with multiple priorities.
