Job Description

Join Spotify as a Remote Podcast Community Moderator! We’re seeking a passionate and experienced individual to manage and grow our vibrant podcast listener communities across various online platforms. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the UK. As a key member of our team, you’ll be instrumental in fostering positive interactions, ensuring a safe and engaging environment, and acting as the voice of Spotify within these crucial communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively moderate online podcast communities across social media, forums, Discord, and other platforms.
  • Foster positive, inclusive, and engaging discussions among listeners and creators.
  • Identify and report trending topics, common issues, and overall community sentiment to relevant internal teams.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce community guidelines and moderation policies to maintain a respectful environment.
  • Collaborate closely with content, marketing, and product teams to align community initiatives with broader company goals.
  • Respond promptly and thoughtfully to community inquiries, feedback, and support requests.
  • Organize and facilitate online community events, Q&As, or discussions to boost engagement.
  • Actively monitor for and address spam, abuse, inappropriate content, and rule violations.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning for community growth, engagement, and retention initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (at least 2 years) in online community management, social media moderation, or a similar role.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for tone and empathy.
  • Deep understanding and active familiarity with various social media platforms, online forums, and community tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated abilities in conflict resolution and de-escalation.
  • Genuine familiarity with podcasting, audio content, and the broader digital media landscape.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working effectively and independently in a 100% remote environment.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing community management software and tools (e.g., Khoros, Sprinklr, Discord bots).
  • Knowledge of digital rights, online safety, and content moderation best practices.
  • An understanding of basic data analysis for tracking community metrics and performance.
  • A profound passion for podcasts and the evolving audio industry.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
