Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking a proactive and creative WhatsApp Community Manager to build, grow, and maintain thriving WhatsApp-based communities. This role involves engaging directly with our user base, moderating groups, driving meaningful discussions, resolving inquiries, and ensuring a positive community experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and manage multiple WhatsApp groups aligned with brand goals and audience interests.

  • Onboard new members, establish community guidelines, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

  • Foster engagement by initiating discussions, sharing curated content, polls, and event reminders.

  • Monitor group activity daily to address spam, inappropriate behavior, and provide timely responses.

  • Collaborate with the marketing and customer support teams to relay key updates and promotions.

  • Gather feedback, suggestions, and data-driven insights to optimize community experience.

  • Identify and recruit potential group moderators or ambassadors as the community scales.

  • Stay updated on WhatsApp features, automation tools, and best practices to improve efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Strong understanding of online communities and digital communication tools.

  • Proficient in WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, and other messaging platforms.

  • Ability to manage multiple groups simultaneously while maintaining tone and responsiveness.

  • Familiarity with link tracking, engagement tools, and basic content creation.

  • Tech-savvy and comfortable navigating cloud-based tools like Google Drive, Sheets, or CRM tools.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and conflict resolution abilities.

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in community management, social media engagement, or online moderation.

  • Previous experience managing WhatsApp groups for business, NGOs, influencers, or customer service is highly desirable.

  • Freshers with exceptional communication and online group experience may also be considered.

Working Hours

  • Flexible hours with availability required for group monitoring during high-traffic times (mornings and evenings).

  • Expectation: Minimum of 4–6 hours/day (part-time) or 8 hours/day (full-time).

  • Rotational weekend coverage may be needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Passion for building online communities and nurturing brand loyalty.

  • Ability to multitask and maintain high responsiveness under minimal supervision.

  • Knowledge of privacy standards and WhatsApp community policy compliance.
