Avow Treasures is a boutique resale store offering gently used furniture, clothing, home décor, jewelry, artwork and housewares. All proceeds benefit the Avow Foundation which supports the only non-profit Hospice and Palliative Care program in Collier County.

Job Summary:
The Treasures Store Associate will be responsible for receiving donations and processing merchandise through the intake area. Ensure all sellable goods meet Treasures quality standards. Sort, clean and price items while maintaining consistent and competitive pricing standards. Cross train in other areas to ensure shift coverage if necessary. All Staff must be able to work assigned shifts between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday through Saturday.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Effectively communicate with donors who drop off donations and process in-kind donation receipts.
  • Efficiently sort, clean, price and prep items for sale under guidelines provided.
  • Operate the point of sale (POS) system, and perform daily cash counting to reconcile the previous days business.
  • Assist in merchandising items throughout the store under the guidance and training from management.
  • Answer incoming calls within three (3) rings and refer calls to a manager as needed for scheduling donation pickups.
  • Create a friendly environment and respond courteously to all customers.
  • Respond to critical incidents such as fire, robbery, shoplifting, personnel or volunteer injury reports, and natural disasters according to company policy.
  • Performs other duties assigned.

Computer Skills:
Computer skills to include general knowledge of e-mail/Outlook as a means of communication with store Management.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Language Skills:
Communication skills of reading, writing and speaking in English.

Math Skills:
Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages/fractions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current, valid driver’s license. Valid auto insurance.

Other Qualifications:
Previous Retail/Thrift Store experience is preferred, however anyone with a knowledge of interior decorating price points would be a good candidate. Knowledge of brand names and current trends. Ability to recognize and separate collectible, vintage and antique items.
