About the position

We need this person in either Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, or Minnesota. To accelerate growth and strengthen market presence across the U.S. swine industry, the goal is to build a high-performing sales team while simultaneously cultivating deep, strategic relationships with key customer segments. These include swine production accounts, regional feed companies, and influential nutrition consultants. ADM Animal Nutrition, a division of Archer Daniels Midland Company, is a leading manufacturing, nutrition and ingredient business offering a wide range of innovative products for the animal nutrition market. We are seeking a Team leader with a proven track record in account management/sales to hold the position of Business Development Manager for key specialty additives and ingredients that would primarily include the North American Market. This person will manage a small team along with develop relationships with strategic accounts primarily consisting of regional and national feed companies and swine accounts in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Participate in face-to-face and remote selling while providing solutions to new and existing customer base for FA&I's, Premix, and Amino Acids.
  • Prospect and qualify new sales leads
  • Collaborate with sales and technical service teams to ensure requirements are met such as sales numbers and profit goals across FA&I's, Premix, & Amino Acids.
  • Cultivating positive interactions and relationships with sales representatives, team leaders and managers, and executives to evaluate sales strategy and results.
  • Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationships.
  • Developing ways to improve customer experience and build brand loyalty.
  • Strong understanding of company products & services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive.
  • Ability to move effortlessly from strategic planning to execution in a complex environment.
  • Ability to communicate and partner cross-functionally, across all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead a team of account executives, consistently achieving monthly sales targets.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher with 5+ years of experience in animal nutrition, trends in production, and specialty additive knowledge related to swine.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Swine integrators across North America is a plus.
  • Proven work experience as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Technical sales manager, Sales Manager.
  • Experience in implementation of business development strategy.
  • Ability to solve problems and build strong relationships with key customer base.
  • Superior verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Continue learning and better understanding the legacy ADM portfolio.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for all ADM Animal Nutrition solutions, embodying the spirit of the brand.
  • Expectations to travel 40-60% of the time.
