Summary of Responsibilities:

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking highly motivated individuals with an active, unrestricted credential (CPA, EA, or Practicing Attorney) and excellent communication skills to assist customers in completing their tax returns using a leading tax preparation platform. These professionals will contribute to a broader mission of promoting financial empowerment by offering Specialist tax guidance, preparation services, and clear explanations of tax and technical topics. They will also play a vital role in enhancing the customer experience through high-quality service and support.

Responsibilities:

This is a virtual, customer-facing role that utilizes advanced video communication software to engage with customers.
Assist customers who are preparing or have delegated their tax returns by providing:

Tax advice

Full-service return preparation and signature
Product or software support
Tax calculations
Deliver exceptional customer experiences through empathy and deep expertise in tax preparation.
Research and communicate accurate information using government websites, professional tools, and team-based resources in accessible, everyday language.
Apply established procedures, practices, and policies to resolve customer tax inquiries and issues.
Work consistently to achieve performance goals and key business objectives.
Participate in pilot programs, projects, and user experience testing as needed.
Accurately document all customer interactions.

Qualifications:

Must hold an active, unrestricted credential: EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Practicing Attorney with strong tax preparation experience and comprehensive knowledge of tax laws.
At least 2 years of recent experience preparing federal and state individual 1040 tax returns for a minimum of 30 clients per season using commercial tax software.
Must possess or be able to obtain all necessary state-issued licenses, permits, or certifications.
Must have an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Knowledge of Circular 230 guidelines.

Strong technology skills and familiarity with computer systems and software.
Excellent customer service abilities with professional and confident communication via video and audio platforms.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and tax research.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Must have or be willing to obtain a secure, hardwired internet connection that meets data security standards.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are a plus.

Must reside in the United States.
