LOCATION: LaGuardia Airport in Queens, NY

SUMMARY: The Security Escort provides security detail as outlined in the post orders and establishes working relationships with customers, local law enforcement and fire departments. He/she will always perform job duties with a constant awareness of surroundings, making note of any and all activity that takes place in the assigned area and complies with all security requirements in a professional manner. The Security Escort’s is also responsible for checking all movement of personnel, clients, and transportation coming in and out of their designated area. The Security Escort performs all responsibilities with a focus on the needs of our customers and in accordance with our company standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Responsible for the prevention and detection of unauthorized entry, presence, and movement of individuals and ground vehicles into or within the assigned area.

§ Ensure that all safety and security procedures are followed at all times.

§ Complete required training as directed by the company and Airport in a timely manner.

§ Ensure that outside Contractors are always properly identified and have their photo ID visible at all times.

§ Maintain detailed documentation and logs as required.

§ Perform security searches as required.

§ Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

§ This Airport specific classification requires each incumbent to complete and pass a Transportation Security Administration/Federal Aviation Administration (TSA/FAA) 10-year employment history verification, which will include fingerprinting and a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) prior to being considered for this position. This status must be maintained for the duration of employment at the airport.

§ Successful completion of the NYS Security Guard License OR NYS 8 Hour Pre-Assignment Course / NYS 16 Hour On-the-Job (OJT) course and the ability to furnish the certificate.

§ A valid Driver's License

§ Successful completion of the OSHA 10 hour course as directed

§ Very strong customer service skills.

§ Strong verbal communication skills in English.

§ Very high attention to detail.

§ Must be able to communicate well and work well with a team.

§ Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.

§ The physical environment requires the employees to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently requires to use personal protective equipment due to job scope.

§ Must be authorized to work in the United States.

§ Apart from religious observations, must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
