About the Role

Ledger Labs is hiring a Senior Accountant to grow into a Controller role over the next 12–18 months. This is a structured, intentional growth position — not a vague “maybe someday” promise.

You’ll work directly with experienced Controllers on a portfolio of clients, building the skills, judgment, and confidence needed to take on full Controller ownership over time. The workload is predictable, expectations are clear, and development is built into the role.

What You’ll Do

  • Support full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of clients
  • Prepare and review reconciliations and GAAP-compliant financials
  • Assist with month-end close, reporting, and variance analysis
  • Communicate with clients directly
  • Identify issues and flag risks for review
  • Learn and apply best practices for client delivery and review
  • Gradually take on increased responsibility as milestones are met

What You Won’t Do

  • Be thrown into full client ownership before you’re ready
  • Work unpredictable or excessive hours
  • Get stuck without a clear next step in your career

Experience & Profile

  • 3+ years of public accounting or outsourced, client-facing experience
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and attention to detail
  • Comfortable communicating with clients
  • Organized, tech-savvy, and systems-oriented
  • Interested in growing into a Controller role
  • Based in EST or CST

Compensation & Structure

  • $35 to $45 per hour, paid bi-weekly
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week
  • Full-time, remote
  • 1099 structure initially, with review for full-time W-2 employment within 12 months of initial hire
  • Compensation increases tied to defined milestones and promotion to Controller

Who Thrives Here

  • Senior accountants ready for the next step
  • Professionals who want growth with structure and mentorship
  • People who value clarity, predictability, and long-term opportunity
