With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.<br><br>Role description:<br><br>Arcadis is currently seeking a technically proficient engineer with a minimum of 10 years experience to serve as a Senior Federal and Climate Adaptation Project Manager (Senior Project Manager) for federal projects related to climate adaptation.<br><br>As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead federal accounts and project teams of engineers, urban designers, and specialist consultants in planning and designing a wide range of structural and nature-based measures to address climate change-related risk to people and infrastructure, such as coastal waterfront facilities; surface and underground transit systems; drainage, sewer, and dry utility systems; emergency operations facilities; buildings; and public spaces.<br><br>The role requires understanding, synthesizing, and balancing multiple problems, objectives, opportunities, constraints, and considerations present in densely developed, aged, and heavily used urban waterfronts, along with multi-disciplinary needs to develop solutions favorable to the client and to stakeholders, in alignment with federal program requirements. Primary objectives include risk reduction, cost effectiveness, adaptability, and respect for the public realm, historic resources, and environmental resources.<br><br>Role accountabilities:<br>• Functioning as an account lead and project manager as part of a delivery team on federal, state, and / or municipal climate adaptation-related contracts<br>• Ensuring technical leadership and quality control is in place for diverse, multidisciplinary delivery teams throughout all phases of a project including planning, design, and construction.<br>• Functioning as the primary interface between the client staff and the consultant team. Engage with the client regularly from a position of familiarity with the consultant team's advances. Actively participate in knowledge sharing, brainstorming, and work planning with client staff.<br>• Functioning as the project manager in establishing and then meeting project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives; assigning and monitoring of tasks; and ensuring adequate resources to deliver the work.<br>• Working on a variety of projects simultaneously, as well as providing technical expertise and experience on other related projects.<br>• Managing existing and an expanding base of clients by meeting or exceeding their expectations, by delivering quality work, and through active communication.<br>• Mentoring junior-level technical staff.<br>Qualifications & Experience:<br>• Demonstrated experience with U.S. Army Corp of Engineering and / or other federal projects<br>• Engineering degree in Structural, Geotechnical, Coastal, Marine, Environmental, and/or Civil Engineering or related<br>• Current NY PE License<br>• 10 years related experience<br>Key Attributes and Skills:<br>• Technical proficiency in at least two of the following practices: coastal engineering, urban drainage systems, seismic structural engineering, marine structural engineering, seismic geotechnical engineering, civil engineering (utility and/or mobility systems), heavy civil engineering, and/or building systems.<br>• Strong knowledge of construction materials, products, systems, means and methods.<br>• Exceptional problem-solving skills at both the macro and the micro level.<br>• Strong ability to make engineering judgement decisions to facilitate progress of the work.<br>• Strong ability to pivot and recalibrate the work due to findings and/or changed objectives and inputs.<br>• Strong ability to work with remote technical resources and to use digital tools to communicate ideas.<br>Continue your career journey as an Arcadian.<br><br>We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
