JOB MISSION: New Balance is actively seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Data Engineering with expertise in Snowflake to join our Global Data & Analytics organization. Our Global Data and Analytics organization drives innovation and excellence by harnessing data to deliver actionable insights across the organization. As a Senior Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and enhancing our data engineering processes to support our growing business needs. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:• Lead and manage a team of data engineers to ensure timely delivery of data solutions. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data engineering solutions. • Design and implement data pipelines and processes to integrate data from various sources into our data ecosystem. • Improve data observability and ensure the team follows the DataOps best practices. • Ensure timely resolution for data pipeline issues implementing a monitoring and incident response strategy. • Implement best practices for data governance, ensuring high data quality, consistency, and security across the data pipelines. • Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring the team works cross-functionally with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver projects effectively. • Collaborate with other D&A technology leaders to ensure the data environment is reliable and resilient, adapting over time to serve as a consistent backbone for data-driven solutions to support business objectives. • Create documentation of the pipelines, maintain data asset documentation and data product documentation leveraging our data catalog/dictionary to ensure visibility and discoverability of our data products. • Mentor and coach team members to enhance their technical skills and promote a culture of continuous learning and development. • Review and weigh in on functional and technical requirements. • Evolve developer environment with CI/CD guidelines and implement testing best practices. • Participate in strategic planning and budgeting for data engineering activities. REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or relevant field of study with minimum 15 years of progressively responsible technology experience with 3-5 years as a data engineering manager. • Strong knowledge of data engineering technologies such as Python, SQL, Spark, real time streaming pipelines, and data warehouse solutions. • Proven data engineering experience in cloud environments, particularly with Snowflake. • Proven experience leading teams of engineers, fostering a high-performance culture, and managing distributed or global teams is often preferred. • Strong people management skills, including recruitment, performance management, and fostering growth and innovation within the team. • Experience in creating data products and/or data product environment is preferred.
