Salary Range:

$202,000.00 - $262,000.00

What’s the role?

As the Senior Manager, Market Research, you will be responsible for leading a group of qualitative and quantitative market researchers who influence company strategy and marketing decision-making by deeply understanding Etsy’s buyer and seller audiences, our brand position relative to competitors, and the evolving macro landscape. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director, Market & Quantitative Research. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Lead a team of 4+ market researchers, mentoring them on quantitative and qualitative research methods, stakeholder management, effective communication, and career development.

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders in Marketing, Product, and Strategy & Operations–as well as managers in other insights disciples (Analytics, UX Research, Quant Research)—to determine research needs and synthesize insights.

  • Apply innovative research techniques and explore new ways to deliver rich insights in a fast-paced environment, including responsible and effective integration of AI into research workflows.

  • Collaborate and communicate in a way that amplifies the voice of our customers, ensuring that the team’s insights are embedded and acted upon.

  • Partner with other research managers to grow and develop the Research team.

  • Recruit and hire outstanding researchers and facilitate their onboarding experience.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • 5+ years of experience conducting primary market research, including surveys, in-depth interviews, and focus groups.

  • Exceptional quantitative research skills, including survey sampling, questionnaire design, and data analysis.

  • Direct experience with multi-market brand tracking (operations & vendor management, sample quality & consistency, data analysis, reporting).

  • 3+ years previous management experience, developing and motivating a high-performing market research team.

  • A demonstrated track record of influencing marketing decision-making with inspirational, action-orientated, and high quality research.

  • You balance rigor and speed-to-learning, and guide your teams on research plans and methodologies that do the same.

  • You are a connector and have a high comfort level in building relationships and collaborating with internal and external relationships with key partners (Marketing, Product, Analytics, Legal, research vendors, etc.).

  • You have a growth mindset, and lead with curiosity and a continuous learning approach.
