Job Summary We are seeking a high-impact Scrum Master/Agile Coach to join the Pulte Financial Services (PFS) IT department and help advance how the organization operates, grows, and delivers digital solutions and value to the organization. This role directly manages and develops the Scrum Master team, providing leadership that elevates and strengthens Agile maturity and drives consistent, high-quality delivery across all product teams. Key responsibilities include coaching teams and leaders, removing impediments, and shaping ways of working that enhance alignment, collaboration, predictability, and innovation. The role requires strong communication and presentation skills, influential leadership, and deep expertise in Agile principles, product-centric thinking, and modern delivery practices. This position also ensures teams receive ongoing Agile training and promotes a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and innovation. As the Agile champion for Pulte, this role helps create the conditions for greater focus, adaptability, and long-term organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Agile Transformation Leadership Serve as a transformational leader driving enterprise-wide Agile adoption, culture change, and delivery excellence.
  • Define and communicate a clear Agile transformation vision aligned with organizational strategy and business outcomes.
  • Build strong partnerships with business and technology leaders to ensure alignment, influence enterprise decision-making, and promote a product-centric operating model.
  • Act as a change agent who fosters collaboration, empowerment, innovation, and continuous improvement across teams and programs.
  • Team Leadership & Talent Development Lead, hire, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing team of Scrum Masters and Agile practitioners, building strong internal Agile capabilities.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and professional development for Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Agile teams, and leaders, reinforcing Agile values, product thinking, and effective delivery practices.
  • Ensure teams receive ongoing Agile training and development to deepen skills, strengthen Agile maturity, and cultivate a culture of learning, improvement, and innovation.
  • Identify and eliminate team and organizational anti-patterns, reinforcing healthy behaviors, sustainable pace, and high-quality engineering and delivery.
  • Agile Coaching & Team Enablement Coach individuals and teams on Agile theory, values, principles, product management practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Guide teams in self-organization, cross-functional collaboration, effective team dynamics, and interpersonal communication.
  • Ensure teams clearly understand business goals, product vision, user stories, acceptance criteria, and Definition of Done; facilitate creation of team working agreements and effective backlog practices.
  • Protect teams from interruptions, remove impediments, manage risks, and create an environment where teams can perform at their highest level.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate team maturity and performance, coaching teams to improve predictability, quality, delivery flow, and customer value.
  • Product & Delivery Excellence Establish standards and provide leadership to ensure sprint backlogs are well-managed, commitments realistic, stories swarmed, sprint goals met, and quality/performance expectations achieved.
  • Partner with Product Managers/Product Owners to ensure backlogs are well-groomed, prioritized, sufficiently deep (2–3 sprints), and transparent.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and product delivery activities including daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Assist with cross-team dependency management, delivery coordination, integrated testing, and release planning/execution.
  • Metrics, Insights & Continuous Improvement Define, track, and analyze Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, predictability, flow, value delivery) through meaningful dashboards, KPIs, and OKRs to inform decisions and drive improvement.
  • Use insights from data, retrospectives, and experimentation to inspire innovation and guide changes that enhance software engineering capabilities, delivery speed, and product outcomes.
  • Enterprise Collaboration & Education Collaborate broadly to educate teams and leaders on Agile principles, best practices, frameworks, and tools that enable efficient workflows and effective product delivery.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and shared understanding through activities such as story mapping, value-stream mapping, product inception, persona definition, and roadmap development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Scrum Master or Certified Scrum Master credential required.
  • Advanced Certifications (A-CSM, PSM II, CSP-SM, ICP-ACC, ICP-ATF) preferred.
  • Path to Agility agile framework certification, experience or familiarity preferred.
  • 5+ years of Scrum/Agile experience with excellent working knowledge of agile frameworks, ceremonies, processes, roles, and responsibilities.
  • 5+ years of agile coaching experience, leading, training, facilitating teams.
  • 5+ years of experience collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver quantifiable business value required; experience in financial services preferred.
  • Demonstrated prior experience as a people leader, including direct management, coaching, and development of team members. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and build high-performing teams in an agile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to build rapport, share findings, and explain tradeoffs to technical and nontechnical audiences alike.
  • Ability to read communication styles of team members from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
  • Group facilitation skills with a demonstrated ability for constructively navigating conflict. Facilitate conflict resolution while keeping a positive spin on team learning.
  • Proficient at developing strong relationships that foster the spirit of innovation, improvement, and collaborative solutions and developments.
  • Enabling continuous improvement through documentation of best practices, training, capacity management, and rules of engagement.
  • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices, including performance product/value measurements.
  • Previous experience coaching product owners, scrum masters, and team members.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, MS Teams, MS SharePoint.
  • Organized, persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.

  • This position is also eligible for an annual bonus based on the successful completion of defined performance objectives.
