Role Overview

Kindling Sauna Ltd is looking for an experienced, hands-on site carpenter to take ownership of the build quality, maintenance and ongoing improvement of our modular sauna and cold-plunge sites across London.

This is a carpentry-first role for someone who takes real pride in craftsmanship. Our saunas are timber-led environments where finish, detail and durability matter. You will be responsible for keeping our sites in excellent condition, carrying out repairs, and supporting the installation of new builds.

While carpentry is at the core of the role, some basic plumbing and electrical understanding is helpful for troubleshooting and coordination.

This role would suit a multi-skilled carpenter who enjoys varied site work, autonomy, and being part of a growing, design-led company.

Key ResponsibilitiesCarpentry & Site Works

  • Carry out high-quality carpentry repairs and improvements across sauna sites
  • Repair and replace cladding, benches, panelling, doors, framing and timber finishes
  • Maintain structural integrity and aesthetic standards of all timber elements
  • Support installation and fit-out of new sauna builds and cold-plunge units
  • Ensure all finishes reflect Kindling’s craftsmanship standards

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform routine site inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose and resolve issues quickly and practically
  • Carry out minor plumbing works (e.g. fittings, connections, leaks)
  • Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting (liaising with qualified electricians where required)
  • Maintain stock of essential materials and parts for site repairs

New Builds & Improvements

  • Work alongside designers and builders to refine layouts and detailing
  • Provide practical input on durability, usability and build efficiency
  • Support prototype testing and improvements to new units
  • Help ensure all builds are maintainable long-term

Site Oversight

  • Travel to multiple London sites for scheduled and reactive works
  • Coordinate with external trades where specialist support is needed
  • Maintain clear records of works completed
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong, proven experience as a carpenter or site joiner
  • Is confident working independently across multiple sites
  • Takes pride in finish quality and attention to detail
  • Has experience in site-based maintenance or fit-outs
  • Has basic plumbing knowledge and practical problem-solving ability
  • Is comfortable reading drawings and working from plans
  • Is organised, reliable and proactive
  • Holds a full UK driving licence (preferred)

Experience in wellness, hospitality, or bespoke timber environments is a bonus but not essential.

What We Offer

  • A varied, hands-on carpentry role in a growing company
  • Interesting, design-led timber projects (not repetitive site work)
  • Opportunity to shape new builds and influence design decisions
  • Flexible full-time or part-time structure
  • Up to £200 per day (depending on experience)
  • Free sauna sessions at our sites
  • Supportive team culture with real autonomy

This role is ideal for a skilled carpenter who enjoys working on high-quality timber structures, solving practical problems, and being part of a small, ambitious company building something meaningful.
