<strong>No experience necessary, paid training is provided, and we pay your certification fees!<br><br></strong>ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Soils Laboratory Technician to join our San Antonio team. We offer opportunities for growth in this role with additional incentives as you earn your certifications. No prior experience is needed, as you'll work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn to safely perform a variety of tasks in our concrete and soils laboratories.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Laboratory Activities: Perform specific tasks associated with conducting laboratory testing on construction materials for various projects under the supervision of senior technicians and other lab staff.</li><li>Laboratory Safety and Compliance: Conduct routine laboratory tests using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards and compliance; Assist with tasks to maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness in compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) initiatives to maintain accreditation compliance; Tasks may include calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment following the manufacturer’s schedule and records; Notify supervisor of broken or missing equipment as needed.</li><li>Soils Testing: Conduct routine laboratory tests for soils including Atterberg limits, gradation analyses, swell testing, moisture content testing, unconfined compressive strength testing, standard and modified proctor testing, and begin learning how to visually classify soils.</li><li>Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on test results; Demonstrate competency of testing methods by documenting results accurately; May perform administrative duties as requested.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Career Development<br><br></strong><strong>As Your Experience Grows, ECS Will<br><br></strong><ul><li>Support you in enhancing your professional skills.</li><li>Encourage participation and advancement in internal and external training programs and certification opportunities provided by ASTM or other organizations.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>No experience required.</li><li>High school diploma or GED.</li><li>Must be willing to obtain and maintain laboratory certifications for soils.</li><li>Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.</li><li>Must have valid driver's license and insurance.</li><li>Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT laboratory equipment, testing methods, and ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, or both.</li><li>Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).</li><li>Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.<br><br></li></ul>ECS Group of Companies (ECS) was founded in 1988 with the goal to raise the standards of professional engineering consulting.
