The pay range is $113,000.00 - $203,000.00

As a Senior Category Manager , you'll play a critical role in shaping that experience by blending the art of intuition with the science of data to grow your business, deliver GMV and revenue goals, and expand market share.

Role Overview

The Senior Category Manager, Target Plus is accountable for driving category growth and profitability within Target's third-party marketplace. This role oversees assortment, pricing, promotions, and financial planning, leveraging guest insights, market trends, and partner analytics to maximize performance. As a strategic connector, the Senior Category Manager partners across global teams - including Merchandising, Site Experience, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Guest Services - to deliver a seamless, inspiring digital shopping experience.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Category Strategy & Execution - Own assortment, pricing, promotions, and marketing to drive growth while balancing short-term performance with long-term opportunity.

  • Strengthen Target's 3P Marketplace (Target Plus) - Optimize the partner ecosystem, identify white space opportunities, and deliver differentiated assortments that elevate the guest experience.

  • Turn Insights into Action - Use KPIs, guest behavior, competitive trends, and partner analytics to shape strategies and improve conversion.

  • Collaborate Across the Enterprise - Partner with Merchandising, Site Experience, Marketing, Product, Operations, Business Planning, and Guest Services teams to deliver a seamless and inspiring digital experience.

  • Consult on Financial Planning - Ensure accuracy in forecasting, alignment to goals, and accountability to results for your categories.

  • Influence & Communicate - Share strategies, updates, and performance clearly with leadership, peers, and cross-functional partners to align and drive impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) required.

  • 8+ years of experience in merchandising, inventory management, forecasting, or product selection (including open-to-buy management).

  • 3+ years of eCommerce experience; marketplace/3P expertise strongly preferred.

  • Proven business acumen with a track record of building industry relationships and leveraging data analytics to inform decisions.

  • Expertise in business planning, forecasting, and defining KPIs to drive execution of business strategy.

  • Entrepreneurial and performance-driven, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

  • Resilient and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to bring clarity and decisiveness in complex or changing situations.

  • Excellent communicator with strong planning, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs.? A Remote work arrangement means the team member works?full-time from home or?an alternate?location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.? A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
