About the position

Shape the digital voice of ALSAC and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We’re seeking a Sr. Specialist – Digital Content Strategy to lead content initiatives that inspire action and deepen engagement. In this role, you’ll craft user-first, mobile-first strategies that connect millions of supporters to our mission—helping save children’s lives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Content Strategy: Develop and execute strategies for stjude.org and microsites to drive engagement and conversions.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with fundraising, UX, design, and technical teams to deliver content aligned with business goals and user needs.
  • Create & Curate: Write and edit compelling web copy, page structures, and micro-content.
  • Oversee CMS content production and enforce brand standards.
  • Innovate & Optimize: Adapt print content for digital, leverage emerging technologies, and implement best practices for SEO, accessibility, and usability.
  • Own the CMS Experience: Serve as the business owner for CMS authoring tools, define requirements for templates/components, and lead training for internal users.
  • Drive Campaign Success: Develop content for online fundraising promotions, banner ads, dynamic news, and digital campaigns.
  • Mentor & Lead: Guide junior content specialists, lead editorial meetings, and champion governance plans for consistency and quality.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years in web content strategy, UX writing, or digital marketing, with at least 3 years focused on web content development.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, Advertising, or Information Technology.
  • Skills: Expertise in CMS and digital publishing workflows.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with impeccable grammar.
  • Familiarity with HTML, Adobe Photoshop, and visual HTML tools (Dreamweaver a plus).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with tight deadlines.
  • Mindset: Strategic thinker, detail-oriented, adaptable to new technologies, and passionate about creating meaningful digital experiences.
