Your role

Mission:
Reporting to the Business Line Manager – AIF USA, your mission will be to lead the business development & growth efforts in the United States, create strategic partnerships, long-term customers and drive sales of our product portfolio including air compressors (medium and high pressure), air treatment, aftermarket services and more. By leveraging your expertise, you will help us become the preferred supplier for our products, with a focus on sustainability and the growth of our customer share at each of their facilities.

  • To manage a team of Strategic Sales Managers responsible for high level corporate relationships for assigned Strategic Account customers
    • To work closely with local prime equipment and aftermarket sales colleagues to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction to clients.
    • Stay updated on industry regulations, energy policies, and government incentives for decarbonization and industrial energy efficiency.
    • To achieve or exceed assigned customer share growth targets by developing and implementing action plans.
    • To establish sustainable rapport within your area of responsibility by maintaining regular contact with sales team colleagues and existing / new customers.
    • To respond promptly to customer inquiries, introducing customers to our capabilities, new products, and upgrades, studying customer needs, and coordinating customer service
    • To continuously update their job knowledge (for products, market segments, competitive landscape, and sales/marketing strategies and skills) by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; networking; and participating in professional organizations
    • To prepare reports as assigned relative to activity, lost orders, closings, follow-up, and performance against targets and forecasts.
    • To maintain all field activity consistently and proactively in the company CRM portal, including appointments, opportunity creation, proposal generation, pricing approvals, updated project notes, and short/medium/long-term pipeline management.
    • To prepare and present proposals, negotiate pricing, and be actively involved in negotiating legal and credit terms.
    • To oversee customer services through quality checks and follow-up; to help in identifying and resolving customer concerns.
    • To always maintain a professional image through personal actions and initiatives, by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers.
    • To enhance the Company’s reputation and brand image by consistently working to implement the Company’s core values of commitment, interaction, and innovation.
    • To obtain, develop, prepare, deliver, and present sales materials, exhibits, and promotional programs when attending exhibits, conferences, meetings, and other local, regional, and national promotional opportunities.
    • To prepare a yearly territory business plan through deep analysis of market segments, products and applications, competitive landscape, etc.
    • Perform all duties in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.
    • Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

To succeed, you will need

Experience requirements
  • 10+ years experience in the compressed air business, preferably including 5+ years experience managing high performance sales teams

Knowledge
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen to translate product capabilities into customer benefits.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to engage internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in market research, competitive analysis, and pricing strategies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM software, and digital marketing tools.

Educational requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, thermal & power engineering, chemical engineering, business or equivalent work experience
