<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong>Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Tax Accountant II to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our tax operations while enjoying a flexible work environment. The ideal candidate will be within a 2.5-3 hour radius of our Norristown, PA office for occasional in-person meetings.<br><br>As a Tax Accountant II, you will play a vital role in our tax department with the following:<br><br><ul><li>Main responsibilities will be sales & use tax and personal property tax compliance for assigned jurisdictions.</li><li>Filing returns, making payments, performing monthly account reconciliation and audit for all transactional taxes.</li><li>Assist in researching exemptions and developing tax positions.</li><li>Drive process improvement.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Maintaining Departmental Control Charts for his/her jurisdictions.</li><li>Staying current on transactional tax law changes and regulations. </li><li>Interfacing and participating on projects with Senior Indirect Tax Management. </li><li>Supporting Tax Manager on ad hoc projects.</li><li>Developing and analyzing data.</li><li>Preparing monthly journal entries to reverse and accrue for proper taxation as well as allocating entries to accrue use tax to correct jurisdictions and legal entities.</li><li>Making and developing improvement strategies for transactional tax processes.</li><li>Active participant on assigned Innovation Projects.</li><li>Ensuring accurate, timely analysis of reconciliations including Blackline.</li><li>Maintaining effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.</li><li>Providing support with various internal audits and special tax related projects.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Education<br><br></strong><strong> QUALIFICATIONS <br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Equivalent Experience.</li><li>Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Work Experience<br><br></strong><ul><li>At least a year of prior Sales & Use tax experience in a multi-entity, multi-state organization.</li><li>Public accounting background is a plus.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Knowledge<br><br></strong><ul><li>PC fluency with Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel, Access, Vertex Tax Software, and ERP systems as well as the ability to manage large data sets in Excel and Access.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Ability to multi-task with a high level of accuracy.</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills.</li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.</li><li>Interpersonal skills to work with various associates, third parties and outside departments.</li><li>Agility in learning new processes.</li><li>Process improvement mind set.<br><br></li></ul><strong>About The Team<br><br></strong>Quest Diagnostics honors our service members and encourages veterans to apply.<br><br>While we appreciate and value our staffing partners, we do not accept unsolicited resumes from agencies.
